I like animals as much as the next guy. I cried when my dog had to be put down because of extensive cancer and I have had any number of hamsters and turtles as pets since I was just a kid. One of my new favorite hobbies is bird-watching and I am a passionate advocate for environmental protection and habitat preservation.
Some people, however, have just taken this kind of thing to a bat-shit crazy level. I would like to introduce you to Dee Mirch, a horse-lover who has eulogized both Barbaro and Eight Belles in the poem posted below and found in it’s original form on this webpage:
