Today I wrote and recorded a new song named ‘Brick By Brick.’ I have put up the recording on my Tumblr, which you can link to on the side of the blog or by clicking HERE. The lyrics are pasted below,.. so give it a listen/read and let me know what you think! (Use headphones,.. you can get so much more detail!)
Street passed by brick by brick, we rode into town.
Full of life and stories of our home.
Grandpa’s hat flew off, flew off his head
He did not care, no he drove on still.
The passenger seat was a worn, a worn out joke
Hand me down vinyl from a funnier day
Sometimes when the breeze talks to me, talks just right
I can still hear his weathered voice
Hear of the wars and all the widowed poor.
Stories of oppression, greed and orphaned whores
We listen till we live and breathe them ourselves
And beg again oh how we beg, we begged for love
At dusk we walked the streets, and we were
Rebuked by the dust so we repented with our feet
People who lived on the street, inheritors all
Of a Kingdom not of this world
We heard of one who came, came to bring
True justice and an open hand
He loved us and spread, spread out His arms
We follow, we follow his feet
Still we have wars and all the widowed poor
Stories of oppression, greed and orphaned whores
We listen, we live and we breathe them ourselves
And beg again oh how we beg, we beg for love
Pulled in late and we pulled, we pulled in drenched
The rain had caught us and taught us to stay
But we knew who made it, who made it fall
Please soak us, soak us to the bone
Till we can stop the wars and feed the widowed poor
Cure all oppression, greed and bring justice to the orphaned whore
We will listen, live and breathe until these troubles are our own
And we will beg again oh we will beg, we beg for love
so good!

Hey Brian — Wow! Beautiful song! I must take a listen to your other stuff and pre-order the album. I’m a fan of 8-track if you’re considering your distributions options.
Thanks for recording and posting. I’m a fan.
